Bad things! Sometimes very bad things.
Savannah is rightfully proud of the beauty of their city and goes to extraordinary lengths to keep it sparkling clean. They employ
a small army of men to rake, sweep and generally tidy up every inch of public space every day. You will rarely see a leaf or twig on the ground. No. Really.
The city is dotted with fountains, the Queen
of which is the Forsyth Park Fountain.
The fountain is surrounded by a cast iron fence. It (as are all the public fountains) most definitely NOT for bathing, drinking or just plain sloshing around in.
Feel free to take all the pictures you want. You can stare, gawk or just stand and gaze all day long. What you cannot do is jump over the fence.
This prohibition is widely known and generally adhered
to by locals and tourists alike. It is also rigidly enforced by the police.
